About Me:
I am a La Joya High School graduate, class of 2007. All through High School, I was a part of the Band and Mariachi program, which inspired me to continue my studies to pursue a degree in Music. I attended the University of Texas Pan American receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. While studying, I was a part of the UTPA Mariachi Aztlan. This is where the doors to my career began to open. Mariachi Aztlan performed at many prestigious venues, such as, performing for the President of The United States, Barack Obama and received many recognitions, including “The Best University Mariachi in the Nation”. Mariachi Aztlan performed alongside with the Houston Grand Opera, the first Mariachi Opera of its kind. After my studies at UTPA, I then joined Mariachi 7 Leguas as the lead harpist and currently a member. Mariachi 7 Leguas also holds many recognitions such as voted “The Best Mariachi on the World” in 2010 by “La Secretaria de Relaciones en el Exterior” in Mexico. Mariachi 7 Leguas has performed, and shared the stage, with many artists, such as MANA, Paquita la del Barrio, Ramon Ayala, Tigeres Del Norte, Maribel Guardia, RioRoma, Pandora, Yuri, Amanda Miguel, Duelo, Intocable, Cristian Castro and many more.
