Sharyland High School Push Against Bullying in Martinez Elementary

Sharyland High School Family and Community Service Class and also members of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) conducted Anti-Bullying presentations to the 5th grade students of Romulo D. Martinez Elementary on November 7th, 2012.

 The Family and Community Service class was divided into two groups of students that preplanned the presentations and skits in class.

Group One consisted of Leader Daniela Barrera, Secretary Guadalupe Salinas, Briseida Macias, Roxy Cruz, Faride Salinas and Evelia Salinas. Their Presentation included a skit that involved some 5thgraders from the audience. After their presentation they asked questions and gave out prizes for correct answers.

Group Two students were Leader Myriam A. Garza, Secretary Selena Perez, Yanelly Garcia, Maria Perez, Kimberly Trejo, and Jackie Rodd. They presented a PowerPoint on ways we can stop bullying. Then they asked Quiz questions about the Power Point. Students answering questions correctly were given a prize.

 Romulo D. Martinez Principal is Rosa E. O’Donnell. Martinez faculty assisting were Mr. Emilio Huerta Counselor,Coach Jimmy Rosales,and Coach Whitney Little.Mrs. Mary Jane Laing is instructor and FCCLA advisor for the Family and Consumer Service Class. The Presentations are part of STOP the Violence National FCCLA Program.
