This is my 15th year as a special ed teacher. I am  looking forward to a great year of learning and growth throughout the district. I have an undergraduate degree in Communications Studies from NYU and a masters in Deaf Education from University of Arizona and am certified preschool-12th grade. I work with kids at all levels in Sharyland ISD who have an auditory impairment. Instead of the kids traveling to one central school, I go to them at their neighborhood campus, so I get towork with teachers and students at all eleven campuses!

I am also a CALT, Certified Academic Language Therapist, after having completed the graduate level program at SMU. This degree allows me to offer comprehensive educational services to students with dyslexia or those who are struggling to master the skills needed for reading. Currently, I am responsible for 504 dyslexia assessments for all English speaking students throughout the district.

In addition to teaching, I'm a single mom who keeps very busy with my five very active kids, Jacob (Sully), Caeli, Abby, Fenn and Vanessa. We are found most often at a sports field somewhere in the RGV or maybe on SPI. I'm usually the one behind the camera shooting pictures for the teams. We moved to Mission in 2002 and love everything about living in south Texas!
