FCCLA Goes Wild to Win Homecoming Float Contest

FCCLA Members participated in making a float for the Homecoming Parade.
Float was finished by the day of the parade, which was November 1st,
2012. The theme for the Homecoming Parade was “Rattlers Gone Wild”. The
Parade included Sharyland High School, the two Sharyland Junior high
Schools, and all of the Sharyland Elementary Schools. The Chapter
officer in charge of making the Float was Mellissa Silva. She
coordinated the supplies and set up work days, so that the float could
be finished by the day of the parade. Members
that worked on the Float were Melissa Silva, Monica Muñoz, Myriam A.
Garza, Arismely Cantu, and Alexis Montemayor, they stayed after
school to help share ideas and work on the Decorations. Advisors
monitoring the students were Mrs. Mary Jane Laing, Ms.Norma Meza, and Ms. Hilda Rodriguez.
The
theme of the FCCLA Float was “FCCLA Jungle”, and everyone that
participated dressed as an explorer. FCCLA won a trophy for “Best
Decorated Float”. At the End of the Parade a community Pep-Rally was
held at Sharyland High School gym to lift the spirits of everyone that
belongs to the Sharyland district.
